Preschool Program Ages 3-5

Our purpose at Mount Carmel Child Enrichment Center is to provide a safe, Christian environment where learning and nurture takes place when the parent must be away from the child. One of our goals is to prepare the pre-school age child socially and intellectually for kindergarten. This is accomplished through small and large group activities, art, music, math, science, cognitive games/activities, creative dramatics, and free play through the Creative Curriculum within our program.

What Children Will Learn

Literacy- Vocabulary and language, phonological awareness, letters, words, print, comprehension, and the joy of books.

Mathematics- Numbers, patterns, spacial awareness, measurement, data collection, organization & representation.

Science- Physical properties, living things

Social Studies- How people live & work, get along with others

The Arts- Dance, music, dramatic play, drawing, & painting

Technology- Tools and their basic operations and uses

Process Skills- Observing & exploring, problem solving, making connections, communicating and representation information

Hours of Operation

Monday - Friday 7:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.

Preschool Programs

We have a choice of preschool programs in our center. Parents/guardians may choose to enroll their child in our 5 full day, 3 full day, or 5 half day program. We also accept Buncombe County Childcare Vouchers.
